Monstrous Gauntlet

Monstrous Gauntlet is a timed PvE wave event with protected deaths and per-wave rewards.

Schedule

  • Week 3 Saturday.
  • 4-hour event window (default 12:00 to 16:00 ET).

Joining and Registration

  • /gauntlet register: pre-register for auto-teleport when event starts.
  • /gauntlet unregister: cancel pre-registration.
  • /gauntlet join: join while event is active.
  • /gauntlet leave: leave and return to your saved location.
  • /gauntlet info: view current round, mobs, and rewards.

Join Rules

  • You cannot join while combat-tagged.
  • If you disconnect while registered, rejoining can auto-place you back in.

Arena Rules

Inside the gauntlet arena:

  • No block placing or breaking.
  • No item durability loss.
  • Fire/lava/hot-floor damage is cancelled.
  • PvP between players is cancelled.
  • Arena world is keep-inventory and immediate-respawn.

Death Behavior (Important)

If you die in the gauntlet:

  • You keep your inventory.
  • You drop no items.
  • You lose no XP.
  • Death-stat inflation is rolled back.
  • You respawn back in arena flow.

This is why gauntlet deaths do not cost your normal gear set.

Wave System

Default tuning (can be adjusted per season):

  • 10 rounds total.
  • Round timer: 150s.
  • Intermission: 25s.
  • Base mobs: 12, then scaling each round.

Mobs are empowered each wave with:

  • boosted health/damage/speed scaling
  • extra potion buffs
  • higher pressure each round

If a round times out, the event auto-advances to avoid getting stuck.

Rewards

  • Highest player damage in each wave gets a random custom item.
  • Reward cap exists (default 10).
  • If winner inventory is full, reward can drop at their feet.

Scoreboard and Status

Gauntlet HUD includes:

  • current round and phase
  • mobs remaining
  • top damage leader
  • reward progress
  • next wave timer

Practical Tips

  • Bring full combat PvE kits and sustain.
  • Joining mid-event is allowed; use /gauntlet join.
  • If knocked out of the arena flow, rejoin during intermission.
